TTS personnel

Our projects and services are delivered by our team of fully trained professional engineers. Details of their individual qualifications, specialisations and range of skills can be seen below.

John T Benson - CEng, MIMech, MIEE, CEnv

John is the managing director of TTS and has many years of experience in mechanical and electrical engineering covering a diverse range of industries from construction, building services, and applications of renewable technology, to brewery process engineering. Core skills include an in-depth knowledge and experience of project management of multi-disciplined teams relating to projects such as design of services for housing developments and commercial properties, and the application of technologies such as biomass boilers, solar thermal systems, solar photovoltaics, ground source heat pumps and wind turbines.

John has an excellent track record of identifying economic solutions to our clients and his leadership skills ensure that projects achieve technical objectives which optimise energy efficiency within set timescales and budgets.

Previous posts include Chairman of the European Brewery Convention, member of the energy and utilities monitoring committee, member of the Brewers Society Environmental Committee and John has also developed a best practice guide for energy targeting and monitoring.

Marcus Stout – Ceng, MIEE

Marcus has extensive experience in the design of electrical installations. His experience includes the electrical design of high and low voltage switchgear, distribution networks, conventional and specialist lighting, security systems, lifts, escalators and building management systems. He is also an expert in communications systems such as broadcast radio and television services, telephone networks and data communication systems. Marcus has worked in numerous sectors including projects for schools, care homes, housing, leisure developments, community services and recreation.

Keith Campbell – Meng, Dip Sustainable Energy Systems

Keith has a keen interest in renewable technologies and sustainability and this is reflected in his degree qualifications. Keith has been conducting energy audits for businesses throughout Scotland under our contract with the Energy Saving Trust and this has provided experience of a large variety of building types from 17th century listed castles to modern and new build properties. He is therefore well placed to offer practical energy efficiency advice on a range of property types and can identify opportunities for energy saving measures such as improving building insulation, upgrading lighting systems, new heating systems and controls.

Keith's extensive knowledge of renewable technologies also allows him to recognise the potential for installing renewable technologies including heating systems such as biomass boilers, ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps and solar thermal systems, and electrical generating systems including solar photovoltaic arrays and wind turbines. He also has developed knowledge of new and upcoming financial incentives for renewables and can advise on grant opportunities, interest free loans, feed in tariffs and the forthcoming renewable heat incentive.
